Point level detection
In point level detection, a sensor registers when a defined level is reached and transmits an appropriate switching command. The switching command starts or stops the filling equipment, such as conveyor belts or pumps, or is converted into a binary signal and integrated into a process control system. Level detection can be realized in liquids, pastes, powders or rough bulk solids.
Typical applications for point level detection are process tanks, storage tanks, silos or pipelines in the process industry. Point level detection is used for minimum or maximum detection, leakage monitoring or overfill protection.
Every industry places its own very specific demands on measurement technology. VEGA offers many different physical measuring principles for point level detection. It can provide a point level detector perfectly adapted to the properties of the medium as well as the individual process conditions at the measuring point.
