FDT-Roadshow in Antwerp

With the purpose to explain the FDT Technology and to reveal its benefits to audiences of end users and suppliers from Process as well as Factory Automation FDT Roadshow had its second stop in Grobbendonk.
The 16 FDT Group member companies ABB, Endress+Hauser, Invensys, Krohne, Metso Automation, Omron, Pepperl+Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, Rockwell Automation, Softing, Turck, Tyco, VEGA, Woodhead, and Yokogawa gave presentations and live demos on the FDT Technology and their FDT products.

Live demos of FDT based products and solutions were displayed on table tops during breaks between the presentations. This allowed the audience to get first hand demonstration of the information they had just gained during the presentations. One highlight was the abacon-IT FDT/DTM demo system, which showed the interoperability of different FDT Frame Applications with several certified DTMs. The day was completed by three application reports from Belgium and Germany, giving concrete examples of how FDT is used in existing as well as in new plants.

The event was very well attended by 110 persons in total. The mixture of information about the technology, hands on experiences and application reports generated great interest among the audience and resulted in a successful day for both suppliers and end users.

The FDT Roadshow travels farther with its next stops planned in Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and USA.
