No compromises in bulk solids level measurement

No compromises in bulk solids level measurement Until now, compromises often had to be accepted in applications for continuous level measurement of bulk solids. Dust, filling noise, mechanical loads and difficult in-stallation conditions hampered measuring or even made it impossible.
At the end of 2004, VEGA Grieshaber KG introduced the first radar sensor especially designed for the demands of bulk solids level measurement. The new sensors for bulk solids have a sensitivity a thousand times higher than that of radar sensors for liquids and are thus ideal for the widely varying reflection characteristics of solid surface geometries.

New swiveling antenna systems can be precisely oriented towards the product surface. Due to the compact sensor dimensions, retrofitting existing equipment is trouble-free and can be done at minimal cost and effort.
Since their introduction, the new VEGAPULS 68 radar sensors have proven themselves in many applications worldwide and have exceeded all expectations with regard to potential new areas of application. High reliability is ensured even under extreme dust generation during pneumatic filling of powdery substances. The radar signals are totally unaffected by temperature and pressure fluctuations as well as strong airflow or extreme filling noise.

With the VEGAPULS 68 radar sensor, VEGA ushered in a new era in level measurement of bulk solids. Thanks to VEGAPULS 68, the unavoidable compromises that had to be made with other measuring techniques are a thing of the past.
