At its Frankfurt Höchst location, Sanofi-Aventis, the world’s 3rd largest pharmaceutical company, develops and produces various insulin preparations. The manufacture of these highly sensitive products places immense demands on the production equipment and the implemented measurement technology. Radar sensors with encapsulated antenna systems, which meet the strict hygienic requirements, guarantee reliable level monitoring. In Germany alone, over 5 million people suffer from the metabolic disease diabetes. Normally, the pancreas provides a sufficient amount of insulin to properly regulate the blood sugar level. But if a patient suffers from a malfunction of the pancreas, the insulin must be administered from outside the body...
