140,000 radar instruments produced in 14 years

140,000 radar instruments produced in 14 years The first attempts to use radar sensors for level measurement began at VEGA Grieshaber 18 years ago. The company introduced the first device suitable for series production at Achema 1991; the world’s first radar gauge in two-wire technology followed in 1997. Already by 1998 VEGA had sold worldwide more than 6,300 gauges and thus advanced to the position of market leader. In December 2004, the 100,000th radar level gauge was delivered. Since 2005, VEGA Grieshaber has had remarkable success in the market with VEGAPULS 68, a radar sensor specially designed for bulk solids.
Dr. Michael Leising talked with Günter Kech, managing director of VEGA Grieshaber, about this unprecedented development.
