In the paper industry, level and pressure transmitters operate under extremely demanding conditions, such as strong abrasion and pressure shocks. Instruments with metal diaphragm and piezoresistive measuring cell cannot handle this kind of treatment over a longer period of time. The consequences are instrument failure, cost-intensive plant downtime, expensive replacement parts and servicing.

The ceramic measuring cell CERTEC is the ideal solution. Over 20.000 pressure transmitters with this measuring cell are at work in the paper industry worldwide. CERTEC is practically a synonym for front-flush mounting, as well as high abrasion and overload resistance.

VEGABAR 54 can also now benefit from the advantages of this new, small ceramic component.
With its small diameter of only 17.5 mm, the instrument fits into very small industry-specific process connections. The measuring ranges extend from -0.1 ... 0.1 bar to -1 ... 60 bar. The signal output is available as 4 ... 20 mA HART, Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus.

VEGABAR 54 is screwed directly into existing welded sockets or PASVE fittings and wired via a DIN 43650 plug. For the user, this adds up to maximum availability and long-term cost reduction.
