Press release NEW VEGACAP series 60 - reliable level switches for solids and liquids The capacitive and admittance level switch range VEGACAP 60, is added as a member of the plics(r) family, rounding off VEGA's development program for all ranges to share the plics(r) system. A capacitive sensor has no moving parts and detects capacitive change when the rod is in contact with the product. Additionally VEGA's patented 'phase selective admittance' system is also used to ensure sensors operate reliably even with build-up, with highly adhesive products. Partly insulated probes are the ideal solution for applications in solids and non-conductive liquids. Conductive liquids and solids are measured with fully insulated versions. Coating options of PE, PA or PTFE make the sensors suitable even for applications in problematic products like cocoa powder, aggregates, resin or liquid sugar, each with difficult demands, yet it still delivers reliable performance. The level switches VEGACAP 60 are maintenance-free and suitable for the challenging tasks of the wide ranging industrial environments they are designed for. Rod, cable and 'flush' types are available. Versions are available for ATEX Ex approved areas (for GAS and DUST), temperatures up to 200°C and pressures up to 64 bar. By being a member of the plics(r) family, means VEGACAP unifies all the advantages offered by the new VEGA sensor concept: the easy selection of sensors, quick mounting, fast set-up and low lifetime costs. VEGA has redesigned and improved their rugged and reliable capacitive measuring technology. The new VEGACAP 60 continues to deliver precise operation, even in the most difficult applications.
