Interface switching and Interface profiling

Nuclear Interface
This is caused by the separation of two liquids, the most common known is oil and water. Interfaces are normally generated by one of the products not being able to readily mix with the other, and being a different weight, e.g. oil is lighter than water, it does not easily mix and floats on top. Interface measurement is used to control separation of two products, and is used mainly in processing and effluent control.

Sometimes the two products to be separated can be a solid and liquid. Interface can be detected measured with weight, electrical, or displacement differential/differences of the products, i.e., when compared with water - oil is lighter, non conductive and floats. VEGA Ohmart use a range of techniques to detect these differences and provide either a switch point or continuous measurement of an interface between two products.

NUCLEONIC Function: The interface level between different liquid phases within a vessel can be measured accurately with a nucleonic gauge. Common examples are oil/water seperators and reactor vessels where solvent/aqueous phases are detected. The VEGA Ohmart solution can provide either a fixed range interface measurement within a vessel or pipe, or density profiling of a complete vessel using our unique 'SmartScan' system.
