The DSTH scintillation detector is specially designed for density applications. it utilises an artificial crystal material that produces visible light when exposed to gamma radiation. The amount of light produced is proportional to the level of radiation striking the detector. This is turn is proportional to the product density.
A photo-multiplier tube mounted above the crystal converts the light signal to a current signal that can be conditioned to produce a 4 to 20 mA output of density, % solids or mass flow. The integral transmitter has a pre-programmed density linearistaion curve and single-point calibration for fast and accurate set-up.
