According to DIN EN 60078-14, the following electrical equipment may be implemented in Zone 2:
a) electrical equipment that is certified for use in Zone 0 or 1
b) electrical equipment that is specially designed for Zone 2 (e.g. Ignition Protection Type n)
c) electrical equipment that meets the requirements of a recognized norm for industrial electrical equipment, that when used as directed does not have any hot surfaces capable of causing ignition, that when used as directed does not generate sparks or electrical arcs
