The analysis of suddenly appeared damages on metallic parts in oil and gas equipment which came in contact with hydrogen sulfide gases and fluids, lead to the first issue of NACE MR 0175.
This standard was published in the year 1975 by the „National Association of Corrosion Engineers“.
It helps to find and fix materials which are resistant against stress corrosion cracking.
