Feedwater for the turbine
Feedwater supply
Feedwater is necessary for the entire power plant circulation. After being vaporised in the boiler, it is conducted into the turbine at high pressure. If sufficient feedwater is not available, electricity production comes to a standstill. For that reason the measurement instrumentation is often laid out redundantly in the feedwater vessel. An inspection glass for power-off fault conditions is also built in.
VEGAFLEX 66 in the feedwater tank
Independent of condensate as well as high process temperatures and pressures, VEGAFLEX 66 ensures very high measurement accuracy and reliability in the bypass tube. It can also be used to lay out the measurement loop acc. to SIL 2 or implemented acc. to SIL 3 in conjunction with the vibrating level switch VEGASWING 66. Safety-related implementation enables both overfill and dry run protection.

VEGASWING 61 as redundant dry run protection
To provide reliable detection of the minimum level in the vessel, often two but sometimes even three VEGASWING 61 vibrating level switches are deployed. As a single device it can also be used as dry run protection in safety-related systems up to SIL 2 (with redundancy up to SIL 3).

VEGAFLEX 66
- Independent of product and process characteristics
- Set-up without filling
- High dependability (SIL2)

VEGASWING 61
- process-independent switching point
- setup without filling
- high dependability (SIL 2)
- recurring test via key press
