The FDT Roadshow conquers Southern Europe

The FDT Roadshow conquers Southern Europe The FDT Group is proud to announce that nearly 250 participants in total, including more than 150 customers, attended its two recent Roadshows that took place at the Cosmo Hotel Palace in Milan on October 18 and in the Hesperia Tower in Barcelona on October 24.

The agenda included an introduction to the FDT Technology and the benefits it delivers to end users, an update on the FDT Group and its activities, and the results of the WIB test on FDT's and EDDL's suitability for Foundation Fieldbus, where FDT scored in many areas.
Among the highlights were the various Live Demonstrations given with the FDT Group's brand-new demo wall that consists of 45 Ethernet, HART, Profibus DP/PA, and Foundation Fieldbus components from 17 different vendors.  Participants could thus not only hear about the FDT concepts but also get an attractive demonstration of the technology's benefits e. g. in commissioning and diagnostics.
To ensure the coverage of the practical side, four case studies of real FDT based projects were presented to the audience; the ARKEMA plant in Lammenezan France, the Brussels North Waste Water Treatment Plant, a plant of DOW Chemical in Tarragona in Spain and one of Europe's largest tank farms in Rotterdam.

There was a very interactive exchange of experience with many interesting questions and detailed discussions around the table top exhibitions provided by the 19 organizing companies; ABB, Endress+Hauser, Invensys, Krohne, MACTek, Metso Automation, Omron, PACTware Consortium, Pepperl+Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, Rockwell Automation, Samson, Sick, Trebing+Himstedt, Turck, Tyco, VEGA, Woodhead, and Yokogawa.

Mr. Alberto Servida of the Italian automation association "ANIPLA" was the moderator of the event in Milano and Ms. Laura Tremosa, former chief editor of "Automática e Instrumentación" led through the day in Barcelona. The support of the event by two such high-level members of the automation community, the high number of attendees and the positive feedback confirm the recognition and good reputation that the FDT Technology has in the market.

For its next stops, the FDT Roadshow will go to the North of Europe - in May 2008, it will go to Denmark and Sweden.
