The multisensor flange – reliable and simple tank content measurement |
The plics line of sensors developed by VEGA Grieshaber KG offers a standardised housing, indicating and adjustment concept. The compact plics-sensors allow a centralised layout of level, pressure and switching instrumentation on a single multisensor flange. Through the simple planning and central mounting of all measurement points, shipyards save costs in ship construction. The VEGAPULS 63 radar sensor takes over the task of continuous level measurement in the cargo tank. Its encapsulated antenna system with absolutely front-flush antenna enables quick, uncomplicated cleaning of the tanks. Radar sensors from VEGA are delivering optimal performance in more than 200,000 applications worldwide, many of them under extreme conditions – from vacuum to 160 bar and temperatures from -40 °C to +400 °C. The pressure transmitter VEGABAR 52, with its especially rugged ceramic measuring cell, measures tank and line pressures. The wear-free vibrating level switch VEGASWING 63, an instrument totally without moving parts, serves as a sensor for high and overfill alarm. The test key on the point level sensors as well as the additional UTI socket mounted on the flange make the required on-board system tests as easy as child’s play for the ship’s crew. The multisensor flange provides simple, reliable cargo tank content measurement and reduces installation costs for the shipyard and servicing costs for the shipping company.
