One of the most significant achievements within our 2025 Sustainability Report was a 67% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas emissions compared with the previous year. This reduction was achieved through a combination of improved data monitoring, energy efficiency measures, fleet electrification, renewable electricity procurement and investment in renewable energy generation at our headquarters.

The figures demonstrate that substantial progress is possible when sustainability objectives are linked directly to operational decisions.

Our UK headquarters building, opened in 2020 with energy efficiency as a core design principle, delivered further improvements during 2025. Building energy consumption decreased by 17%, supported by a full year of operation of our rooftop solar installation and newly installed 300 kW battery system. Water consumption at the site was also reduced by 29%. 

Meanwhile, our vehicle fleet transition continues to gather momentum. By the end of 2025, 77% of VEGA UK's fleet was electric, up from 40% at the end of 2024, while diesel consumption had fallen by 81%. These changes help reduce direct emissions while demonstrating how practical transitions can support wider sustainability goals.

For VEGA, environmental responsibility extends beyond our own operations. It also includes the role our measurement technologies play in helping customers monitor critical processes, protect natural resources and improve operational efficiency.

Our measurement technologies are widely deployed across the UK's water sector to monitor wastewater networks, flood risks, pollution incidents and environmental performance. We work closely with major water companies, regulators and environmental organisations to provide reliable monitoring that supports improved environmental decision-making.

Accurate measurement is often the foundation of effective environmental management. Whether monitoring final effluent flows, combined sewer overflows, flood levels or wastewater treatment processes, our technology enables organisations to identify risks earlier, respond faster and make more informed decisions.

This is an area where industrial technology companies can make a particularly valuable contribution to sustainability. By enabling customers to better understand and manage complex environmental systems, technology becomes a practical enabler of positive change.

Protecting nature remains an important part of our sustainability journey. During 2025, we continued to enhance biodiversity through targeted habitat improvements informed by a professional ecological assessment. During the baseline biodiversity survey, 102 species were identified on and around the site, providing valuable insights that are helping shape future biodiversity improvements.

Our UK headquarters also includes a wildlife-rich pond designed to naturally manage rainwater and reduce pressure on local drainage and treatment systems during periods of heavy rainfall. As climate-related weather events become increasingly common, these types of local adaptation measures will continue to play an important role. 

Environmental initiatives are only one part of a successful sustainability strategy. Lasting change depends on people, culture and shared responsibility.

Throughout 2025, VEGA UK continued to invest in programmes that support employee engagement and community impact. Twenty-four sustainability grants were awarded to employees, helping fund practical initiatives such as home solar panels, EV charging facilities, water-saving measures, food-growing projects and wildlife-supporting activities.

The company also contributed £12,000 to charitable and community causes during the year, supporting organisations and projects nominated by employees and partners. These initiatives reflect our belief that sustainability should extend beyond business operations and contribute positively to the wider communities in which we work.

A key milestone during 2025 was the launch of Instruments for Change, our partnership with Trees for the Future. The initiative links selected VEGA product sales to programmes supporting reforestation, sustainable agriculture and community resilience. As the programme develops, it will continue to create opportunities for customers, employees and partners to contribute to positive environmental outcomes.

The progress achieved during 2025 represents another important step in VEGA UK's long-term sustainability journey. As we continue towards our target of Greenhouse Gas neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2033, our focus remains on delivering measurable improvements across energy, transport, waste, biodiversity and community impact.

Achieving meaningful progress requires collaboration. Customers, suppliers, industry partners and employees all play a vital role in helping drive more sustainable outcomes, whether through innovation, improved resource efficiency or the adoption of new technologies.

Together, these partnerships create opportunities to deliver lasting value while addressing some of the environmental challenges facing industry today.
