(CINCINNATI, OH) OCTOBER 5, 2018— VEGA Americas is proud to call itself a Cincinnati Manufacturer and the company is excited to be participating in Manufacturing Day. This national event supports manufacturers as they showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers. VEGA Americas will open its doors to 80 seniors from Taft, Aiken and Shroder High Schools on October 18 to show them what manufacturing careers look like in today’s world and these jobs can be worthwhile and successful careers. The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a tour of VEGA’s state of the art manufacturing facility, followed by a panel discussion with current apprentices and co-ops and ending with lunch.
There are hundreds of high-paying jobs in manufacturing unfilled right now. Greater Cincinnati is a hub for top manufacturing companies, which are part of a dominant and rapidly growing industry in our region, yet students are not choosing manufacturing as a career path. The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) reports 7 out of 10 Americans consider manufacturing a backbone of the economy, but only 3 in 10 respondents would encourage their children to pursue a manufacturing career.
