Three VEGA Americas employees recently completed the Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program, earning them their Associates Degree and an industry-recognized AHK certification in Mechatronics.

The Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program, created by Festo and Sinclair Community College, focuses on mechatronics and divides students’ time between class work and hands-on experience.

VEGA Americas sponsored Steve Gott, Daniel Geiman, and Chapman Sowash when they began the program in 2018.

For the past two years, each apprentice has spent three days working and learning at VEGA, one day at FESTO, and another day at Sinclair.

In those two years, each apprentice has gained valuable knowledge, learned new skills, and chosen a direction within VEGA that fits them.

Steven Gott is a Mechatronics Technician, Daniel Geiman is a Production Configuration Technician, and Chapman Sowash is a Field Service Technician.

One of the core values at VEGA Americas is continuous improvement, and this apprenticeship program closely aligns with that value, improving employees’ lives and the organization as a whole.
