Kuppenheim/Schiltach. On 17 December, instrumentation manufacturer VEGA Grieshaber KG officially began construction of a new production facility in Kuppenheim. This major project marks a milestone in the company’s growth strategy and sustainable development. The builder is Grieshaber Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG.
With the new location, VEGA is expanding its production capacity and strengthening its global logistics. Schiltach will continue to be the company’s headquarters. There, the space available for further growth has been exhausted. The project is being implemented as part of the “Ober-Hardrain” development plan and will give a significant economic boost to the entire region.
“We’re creating additional capacity in order to remain competitive in the long term and offer our customers worldwide the quality that VEGA stands for. We’re deliberately investing in sustainable structures and in the future of our company in Germany,” emphasises managing partner Isabel Grieshaber.
“With the new location in Kuppenheim, we’re making our production and logistics processes even more efficient and taking responsibility in the region, especially in these economically challenging times,” adds managing director Markus Kniesel.
Modern and sustainable architecture
In the first construction phase, multiple building complexes will be erected on the approximately 10.4-hectare site.
Two production buildings will offer a total of 32,000 square meters of manufacturing space as well as an integrated logistics area. The administration building will feature modern work workspaces that include meeting and collaboration zones, as well as a staff restaurant, an espresso bar and a fully equipped kitchen area.
The new high-bay warehouse will serve as a central transshipment point in the future.
Greenery-covered façades and roofs as well as photovoltaic modules underscore the ecological aspirations of the project. VEGA is aiming for gold certification with the quality seal of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
