Having shaped the fortunes of the instrument maker over decades, no-one knows VEGA as well as he does: Günter Kech. After more than 50 years at VEGA, 25 of which were spent in management, the passionate tinkerer and innovative mastermind was given a festive send-off into retirement.

Start-up develops microchips for radar sensors

The demand for innovative measurement technology for industry is also increasing in Scandinavia. With the new subsidiaries in Denmark and Sweden, which will open in spring 2024, VEGA is actively responding to this development and moving even closer to customers with its modern level and pressure measurement technology.

Simplicity for the user – that’s an important guiding principle at VEGA. It also applies to the many tools that are available for operating sensors and other devices. From October 2023, the range of capabilities will be considerably expanded.

Safety and reliability are basic requirements in the field of measurement technology. This applies especially to radiometric measurement, which is always used when process conditions are in the extreme: extremely hot, cold, corrosive, dusty or under pressure. The VEGASOURCE 80 series source holders are a fitting extension to this measuring technique.

Growth needs space: This also applies to VEGA’s expansion around the globe. In recent months, the instrumentation maker has moved into four new buildings – in Great Britain, the USA, South Africa and Spain.

Many manufacturing process steps are necessary before the ceramic pressure measuring cell CERTEC® from VEGA can be used in a pressure transmitter. This also includes laborious manual assembly – for the time being. However, a new research project is currently underway to automate this step.

After the certification of the VEGAPULS 6X radar sensors, which were developed according to the highest current standards for cybersecurity, the company is now following suit with its cloud services: VEGA Inventory System has been successfully certified according to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard.
