Density measurement by means of electronic differential pressure

An innovative software and hardware concept makes it possible to combine any two pressure transmitters of the VEGABAR 80 series into an electronic differential pressure system to measure density. Electronic differential pressure measurement is used for measuring density change and/or for compensation when the level needs to be measured.

Function

In electronic differential pressure measurement, two sensors from the VEGABAR series are combined to form a unit. Electronic differential pressure is used for differential pressure measurement in filters and pumps, level measurements in pressure-superposed tanks, as well as for flow, density and interface measurements.

Series

Any two sensors from VEGABAR Series 80 can be combined. The pressure difference is output via the signal line.

Mounting

Density measurement requires either a fixed defined height or two separate measuring points on the liquid column. Two initially independent sensors are installed. Threaded or flanged connections allow installation in a variety of process fittings on vessels and pipes.

Connection

The sensors are connected to each other via a shielded four-wire cable. The measured value from the slave sensor is read in and factored into the calculation. Electric power supply and parameterization are carried out via the master sensor.

Setup

As soon as the "Electronic differential pressure" application is selected via an adjustment tool, the differential pressure is output as a value.
